Budidjaja International Lawyers is proud to announce our Senior Partner, Ms. Juni Dani, recently participated, as a speaker, in the Group Discussion for Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) 2019, Survey Indicator: Starting a Business and Paying Taxes, held by the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Body (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal).
The Ease of Doing Business (Kemudahan Berusaha or EoDB) is an annual survey organized by the World Bank, in order to analyze and measure various aspects of business development90 countries. The results of the survey are revealed every October of the current ongoing year and can be publicly accessed in the Ease of Doing Business website (http://www.doingbusiness.org/). This year, Indonesia is ranked 72 overall; however, for the indicator of Starting a Business, Indonesia is ranked 144. The Government of Indonesia is aiming to move up to the 40th spot in 2019.
This Group Discussion serves as a platform for open discussions and insights into the experience of practitioners who specialize in establishing companies and licensing procedures in Indonesia. Other scopes and coverages include paying corporate taxes, compared with the refinement and simplification of licensing and taxation procedures, as well as regulations enacted by the Government of Indonesia. In this event, Ms. Dani delivered a speech on procedures and practical problems for establishing a company and obtaining licenses for a company in Indonesia.
The event was attended by various government officials (such as the Coordinating Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Directorate General of Tax), the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Governance (AIPEG) and other respondents.
