On Thursday – 17 July 2019, some of Budidjaja International Lawyers’ members and clients attended the HKIAC Belt and Road Conference at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta.
With the theme of “Effective Cross-Border Partnerships: Infrastructure Investment and Risk Management”, the conference was attended by eminent people who would to exchange insights and experiences on infrastructure investment, as well as risk management in the cross-border context. The event was also supported by The Indonesian Academy of Independent Mediators and Arbitrators (MedArbId) together with Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, Bali International Arbitration & Mediation Center (BIAMC), and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Our Managing Partner, Tony Budidjaja – who has also been recently listed as Arbitrator in Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) – had the opportunity to deliver closing remarks at the event.
During his speech, Tony mentioned that the Belt and Road Initiative has certainly captured the attention of various stakeholders from investors, governments, legal practitioners, even to contractors.
He shared his optimistic view with the audience that this infrastructure plan would strengthen the economies and businesses, thereby greatly contributing to the general development of the Asia Pacific region, especially Indonesia.
The event was concluded in high notes with Tony expressing his hopes for future collaboration with HKIAC, as well as gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and supporting organizations for successfully putting together the conference.
