E-Commerce Activities Now Specifically Regulated

As time and trends rapidly changes, we are introduced and accustomed to the practice of E-Commerce. The E-Commerce industry grows so swiftly and the regulating bodies must be able to keep up with all the development.

Amidst the rapidly growing e-commerce industry in Indonesia, the Ministry of Trade issued Minister of Trade Regulation No. 50 of 2020 on the Provisions on Business Licensing, Advertisement, Development and Supervision of E- Commerce Business Actors on 16 May 2020. The Minister Regulation is an implementing regulation of Government Regulation No. 80 of 2019 on E-Commerce, which aims to clarify and regulate the e-commerce business sector. With a grace period of 6 (six) months, the Minister Regulation will be effective on 16 November 2020.
