In this episode, we welcome back Stefanny Oktaria Simorangkir, Senior Associate at Budidjaja International Lawyers, along with Associates, I Ketut Dharma Putra Yoga and Zefanya Prabowo, from practice group International Trade, Insurance, Shipping & Aviation.

After learning about the preliminary process of maritime cases on our previous episode on Shipping Law, join us as we explore further about the Indonesian Maritime Court proceedings and its characteristics.

Stefanny Oktaria Simorangkir
Stefanny has handled numerous shipping disputes including cross-border disputes arising from commercial transactions, marine incidents inter alia (Collision, Sinking, and Fatality), cargo loss resulting from a fire on board a vessel, and dispute arising from pollution claims. She has also handled broad and various shipping non-contentious matters including advising client with regards to sale and purchase of vessel, reflagging and registration of vessel, pilotage, contract of affreightment, contracts related with freight payment, and establishment of foreign investment shipping company. Recently, Stefanny has also worked on numerous international trade matters including importation of certain goods for construction project and shipbuilder industry as well as compliance to the requirements in relation with the limitations of imported goods.
I Ketut Dharma Putra Yoga
Since joining BIL, Yoga has been involved in a number of corporate matters as well as shipping matters such as vessel detention by Indonesian Navy – providing an advice related to the release of the vessel. As well as took part as the initiators and coordinator of the Indonesian Maritime Law Forum (IMLF) wherein the maritime legal practitioners including maritime lawyers can actively hold routine activities/discussion for exchanging information and collaborate with the Indonesian government in providing insights and constructive ideas for the development of maritime law in Indonesia.
Zefanya Prabowo
Zefanya has been involved in assisting HGB extension cases, land acquisition, cargo claim, as well as to obtain Marine Transport Business Permit (SIUPAL). She is currently assisting shipping and aviation practice group at Budidjaja International Lawyers.
