On May 8, 2023, the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) formally opened its ASIA Chapter in Bangkok at the Tilleke & Gibbins headquarters. As an ASA ambassador for Indonesia, our Founding Partner Tony Budidjaja welcomes ASA’s initiatives to link and collaborate with the Asia arbitration networks.
The two sessions of the event concentrated on the use of international arbitration in Switzerland and in Asia, including China, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand where the most salient characteristics of each jurisdiction were highlighted as well as the most recent practical difficulties, such as interim measures, enforcement, and putting aside foreign arbitral awards.
