The Director-General of Customs and Excise has now issued Regulation No. PER-25/BC/2023 (“DJBC Regulation No. 25/2023”), which explicitly addresses entries and releases of goods from areas that are stipulated as Free Trade Areas and Free Ports (“Free Areas”) through consignment goods. This new regulation is set to come into force on 22 March 2024.
