In appreciation of the hardworking efforts and outstanding work performances, it is with much delight that we announce the new appointment of the following BIL members to their new roles as of 1st August 2019:
Reynalda Basya Ilyas as Senior Associate and the Vice Head of Commercial Dispute Resolutions practice.
Reynalda joined BIL in 2016 as Associate. Through the years, she has demonstrated her capabilities in assisting domestic and multinational companies before Indonesian courts, as well as Indonesian National Board of Arbitration (Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia – “BANI”) in wide ranging matters inter alia general commercial issues, probate dispute, state administrative and employment disputes.
She is also experienced in assisting clients in enforcing arbitration award cases, both on national and international level. Other cases that she previously handled also encompassing the area of criminal, environmental, data protection, construction, and aviation. Reynalda is a member of PERADI and admitted to practice in Indonesian courts.
Stefanny Oktaria Simorangkir as Senior Associate and the Vice Head of Shipping & Aviation; Insurance & Re-Insurance; International Trade & Customs practices.
Since joining the firm in 2014, Stefanny has handled numerous shipping disputes including cross-border disputes arising from commercial transactions, marine incidents inter alia (Collision, Sinking, and Fatality), cargo loss resulting from a fire on board a vessel, and dispute arising from pollution claims.
Aside from court shipping litigation, she is also experienced in handling substantial out-of-court settlement with cargo/ship owners arising due to marine incident and detention of vessel. Stefannyhas been consistently showed her strong acumen to handle broad and various shipping non-contentious matters. These include: advising client with regards to sale and purchase of vessel, re-flagging and registration of vessel, pilotage, contract related to affreightment and freight payment, and the establishment of foreign investment shipping company.
In international trade matters, Stefanny has assisted clients in the importation of goods for construction project, shipbuilder industry, as well as ensuring compliance relation with the regulations related to the imported and exported goods.
Stefanny is a member of PERADI and admitted to practice in Indonesian courts. She also currently serves as the Board Member of Indonesian Air Law Society (Masyarakat Hukum Udara – MHU).
