As mandated by higher statutory provision, Minister of Public Works and Housing (“MOPWH”) issued Regulation No. 9 of 2021 on Guidelines of Sustainable Construction Implementation (“Reg. 9/2021”), which came into force on 1 April 2021 and effectively revoked the previous regulation i.e, MOPWH Regulation No.05/PRT/M/2015 (“Reg.5/2015”)
Previously, Reg.5/2015 did not provide any stipulation on predicate of sustainable construction. Under Reg. 9/2021, the predicate of sustainable construction is introduced.
