To enhance the safety and security of navigation for Indonesian-flagged vessels conducting towing activities, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation (DGST) has issued Circular Letter No. SE-DJPL 38 of 2024.

This regulation advises Vessel Owners and Operators to ensure that their Masters and Deck Officers hold the Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) Towing Master, making this certification obligatory for those conducting towing operations.
