Mr. Tony Budidjaja is an independent arbitration and dispute resolution specialist with over 30 years of legal practice, with extensive experience in complex, cross-border and high-stakes commercial disputes, committed to providing trusted, high-quality services with world-class standards.
Mr. Tony Budidjaja is a highly experienced legal practitioner whose professional practice is focused on international trade and maritime matters, construction, insurance, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition to working as counsel in both disputes and transactional matters, Mr. Budidjaja has served as an arbitrator in various domestic and international business disputes and as an expert on issues of Indonesian law in numerous high-stakes litigation and arbitration proceedings.
Through his extensive experience as an arbitrator, mediator, expert, and legal counsel, Mr. Budidjaja brings an independent and multidisciplinary perspective to dispute resolution. His practice is grounded in independence, integrity, and professional excellence, with an emphasis on understanding the legal, commercial, and sector-specific dimensions of each dispute. His unique ability to bridge legal principles with practical business considerations enables him to deliver clear, balanced, and effective dispute management.
Mr. Budidjaja is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (FSIArb). He is accredited as both a mediator and arbitrator by many prominent international arbitration institutions, including Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), Asia Pacific International Arbitration Center (APIAC), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Russian Arbitration Center (RAC), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), and Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA).
Mr. Budidjaja currently serves as the Ambassador of Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) for Indonesia, an Approved Faculty List (AFL) member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Chairman of the Indonesian Academy of Independent Mediators and Arbitrators (MedArbId), and a contributor to the International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Committee Task Force on “The Nationality of the Arbitrator as a Proxy for Independence and Impartiality”.
