Overview of Fee Changes of Presidential Decree Number 64 of 2020 on the Second Change of Presidential Decree Number 82 of 2018 on Health Insurance in Indonesia

To ensure the implementation of Universal Health Coverage in Indonesia, The Government of Indonesia established the BPJS (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial) or ‘Social Security Administering Body’ and by putting Jamkesmas (Jaminan Kesehatan Masyarakat/National Health Security) into action.

In the course of action, the dynamic situation compels the Government to make amends to the establishment and its governing rules. Recently, the Presidential Decree Number 64 of 2020 on the Second Change of Presidential Decree Number 82 of 2018 on Health Insurance (“Perpres 64/2020”) was issued. Perpres 64/2020 ascribes changes in fees for “BPJS”, which came into force on 1 July 2020.
